Chef Eliaquim Labang, of the Quim’s Cake Bakeshop and Café, will give away the promised 5-million worth of cakes as the leading presidential candidate Mayor Rodrigo Duterte expected to win the National Election as of May 10, 2016 in the unofficial and partial result.
The international pastry chef was remembered by that promise to the supporters of the mayor after criticizing the changes in the claim of the candidate from “not interested”, to “interested” in joining the presidential race and questioned his chances of winning.
On the recent trend after Duterte leads the Presidential Elections, the supporters of the mayor begun remembering the promise and set up the event “Libreng Cake sa Quim’s Cake” on Facebook to remind the chef of his oath.
Yet, the chef denied the Facebook event but is willing to do his words as with the celebration of the newly elected leaders of the nation through a semi-monthly cake sampling starting July 1 in his shop.
To avail this, he advises to send the name, age, address, and contact number of the willing participant on his email at quimscake@yahoo.com and go to his shop at 38 Tomas Morato, Quezon City, 3-5pm when the participant’s schedule is confirmed.
