MANILA - Congresswoman Leni Robredo on Monday night expressed confidence that she will emerge victorious in the vice-presidential race.
In a statement posted in her official Facebook page, Robredo said that based on her camp's own quick count, she is confident that she will win.
"Hindi sa pinangungunahan natin ang ating mga institusyon, ngunit may sarili po tayong operation quick count at nakikita natin na sa dakong huli tayo ang mananaig," she said.
She also asked her supporters to continue waiting for the rest of the results.
"Malayo pa at hindi pa tapos ang opisyal na bilangan. Patuloy po tayong maghintay at magbantay."
Based on the partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Transparency Server as of 11:40 p.m., May 9, 2016, Robredo had 11,687,776 votes, while Senator Bongbong Marcos had 12,042,475 votes, based on 67% of registered voters.
In a statement Monday night, Marcos said he is anticipating a win, but will continue to closely monitor developments.
"I am feeling that by all indications, we should be successful today. We will continue to monitor and closely watch the developments," he said.
